      Thiruvananthapuram, formerly known as Trivandrum, is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. Referred to by Mahatma Gandhi as the "evergreen city of India", it is classified as a Tier-II city by the Government of India. The city is home to central and state government offices and organizations. Apart from being the political nerve centre of Kerala, it is an academic hub and is home to several educational institutions including the University of Kerala, Trivandrum medical college and to many Science and Technology institutions.

Dr. Tatsuya Ishikawa

Dr. Tatsuya Ishikawa is a Professor at Division of Field Engineering for the Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University, Japan. He is currently the Secretary of the Technical Committee TC 202 for Transportation Geotechnics under the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. His arears of research are Unsaturated soil, Frost heaving, Granular material, Cyclic behaviour etc.

Dr. Anand J Puppala

Dr. Anand Puppala is a distinguished teaching professor in Civil Engineering and Coordinator of Geotechnical Engineering program at the University of Texas (UTA) at Arlington, Texas, USA. Dr. Puppala received 2012-13 University Distinguished Record of Research award, the highest award given to a faculty member with a distinguished research record. He has been conducting research on stabilization of expansive soils, sustainable utilization of recycled materials, dams and embankments, in situ intrusive methods for site characterization, and pavement material characterization studies.

Dr. J S Vinod

Dr Jayan S Vinod is an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Wollongong. His Doctoral degree in geotechnical engineering was awarded in 2006 from Indian Institute of Science, India. His key research areas include discrete element modelling of geomaterials, soil dynamics and engineering behaviour of methane hydrate sediment mixtures. He is one of the CIs for three ARC LP research grants and is a technical reviewer for key journals in his speciality

Dr. Sakdirat Kaewunruen

Dr. Sakdirat Kaewunruen is a specialist with extensive experience across civil, transport and rail industry in public and private sectors. He has extensive expertise in transport infrastructure engineering and management, successfully dealing with all stages of infrastructure life cycle and assuring safety, reliability, resilience and sustainability of rail infrastructure systems. He has held visiting appointments at various institutions, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Chalmers University of Technology’s Railway Mechanics Centre in Gothenburg Sweden, The University of Tokyo, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Railway Technical Research Institute in Tokyo Japan.

Dr. G. L. Sivakumar Babu

Dr. Sivakumar Babu obtained his PhD from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 1991 after completing ME in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, from Anna University, Madras in 1987. He is presently working as Professor at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His research activities are in the field of Risk and reliability applications in Geotechnical engineering, Geosynthetics and reinforced soil structures, Environmental Geotechnology, Fibers in geotechnical engineering, Earthquake Geotechnical engineering and Geotechnics for disaster mitigation.

Dr. J. T. Shahu

Dr. J. T. Shahu is a Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at IIT Delhi. He did his MTech in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1988 and PhD in 1994. His research interests include Geotechnology for Roads and Railway tracks, Reinforced Soil Structures etc. He is a well-known Consultant and Researcher in the area of Geosynthetic Reinforced Railway Tracks

Dr. R. Shivashankar

Dr. R. Shivashankar has done D.Eng. from AIT Bangkok Thailand in 1991 after completing M.Tech from IIT Madras in 1980. He has 23 years of teaching experience at NITK, Surathkal as Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. He has also served NITK ably in several administrative positions as HOD of Civil Engineering Department , Chairman of Centre for Continuing Education, First ever Dean of R&D, HOD of Department of Training and Placement.

Dr. Sireesh Saride

Dr. Sireesh Saride is currently Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. His expertise and research interests are in the area of pavement geotechnics, geosynthetics and ground improvement. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Ground Improvement (ICE) and Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ASCE. He is a member of ASCE, ICE, TRB and life member of IGS and IRC.

Dr. Samson Mathew

Dr. Samson Mathew has completed his B.Tech. Degree from University of Kerala, in the year 1985, M.Tech. Degree from University of Calicut in 1988 and Ph.D. from University of Calicut in 1996. He received the young scientist award for the year 1994. He joined National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli in the year 1994 and is currently the Professor of Civil Engineering. His teaching and research areas include Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering, Road Safety, Pavement Management and ITS.

Dr. P.D. Arumairaj

Professor P.D. Arumairaj is a Professor of Geotechnical Engineering. He is presently the Head of Department in Civil Engineering in Karunya Deemed University, Coimbatore. He is a consultant to numerous Govt. and Private agencies in the field of Geotechnical, Geo Environmental and Structural projects. His main research interests are in Geotechnical Engineering, Geopolymer concrete and pavement engineering design and evaluations.

Mr. Ravi Sundaram

Mr. Ravi Sundaram started his career in 1980 with McClelland International Ltd. He is founder Director of Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt. Ltd. and directs the company’s geotechnical consultancy and construction activities. His expertise includes geotechnical investigations, geophysical surveys and ground improvement. His special interests include artesian conditions, dune sands, expansive soils, tall buildings, power plants and bridge foundations, pile testing and foundation strengthening.

Dr. K. Balan

Dr. Balan K. received his Ph.D from IIT Delhi in 1996, Post Graduation in Geotechnical Engineering from Kerala University in 1985 after graduating in Civil Engineering from Kerala University in 1982. Dr. Balan, K. has specialized in sub soil investigation and design and execution of foundations and soil improvement methods. Designed and executed many projects using geotextiles with natural fibres. Currently he is Vice Principal of Rajadhani Institute of Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram

Mr. Ravikanth Vetcha

Mr. Ravikanth Vetcha, is currently the Assistant Vice President of Petrochemicals Business Unit of Reliance Industries Limited, based at Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai. Graduated in Civil Engineering from Andhra University in the year 1996 and did a special course in Design of Coastal Structures from IIT Madras subsequently. Have been working over 20 years in the field of Geo-synthetics. Represents Reliance Industries Ltd in various Technical Textiles Committees of Bureau of Indian Standards.
